Nyborg Castle

Follow the Castle Project

Learn all about the Castle Project in the pavilion. There are temporary exhibitions featuring finds from archaeological excavations, examples of materials used in the restoration and much more.

Ask a Castle guide

Several times a week, the pavilion is staffed by the museum’s trained Castle guides. This is a perfect opportunity to ask questions about the Castle Project and the history of Nyborg Castle.

Opening hours

The pavilion is open and staffed on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 2.00 to 4.00 pm and on Saturdays from 12.00 noon to 2.00 pm.

In the Castle Pavilion you can see selected objects from the restoration of Nyborg Castle and the archaeological excavations on the castle islet and in the town square. Text and posters provide an introduction to the Castle Project, while a large screen displays images and the latest news about the project. You can also visit the platform on the 1st floor, which offers a wonderful view of Nyborg Castle.

Groups can also access the pavilion outside these hours. Simply contact Museums of Eastern Funen. Outside opening hours, you can see the presentation in the pavilion through the huge windows and on the outdoor posters. The platform on the 1st floor is also accessible outside opening hours.
